s=(40 orange) pr=no of required outcome=40 ripe oranges=28 unripe oranges=12 pr(ripe)=28/40 =7/10 pr(unripe)=12/40=3/10
of the 40 oranges, 12 are unripe ----> 28 are ripe

prob(ripe) = 28/40 = 7/10
so
prob(unripe) = 1 - 7/10 = 3/10

you are correct
yes
