A black out poem is a poem that you create using the published work of
Another author. To start the poem find a newspaper, magazine, or printed out internet article connected to your theme or a subtopic from your list. Read the article noticing words and phrases that you like and might wish to include in your poem. Take a black sharpie and color the entire article except the words and phrases you’d like to include in your poem. Then arrange the words into lines and stanzas. You may add no more than five words to your poem.
