gauge pressure= .148mHg*103kPa/.760mHg
absolutePressure= (.148+.752)mHg*103kPa/.760mHg
check my thinking
A barometer reads atmospheric pressure to be 75.2 cm of Hg. A confined gas has a gauge pressure of +14.8 cm of Hg. Calculate gauge and absolute pressure on the gas in Pascals.
I'm using the equation P=pgh with 13,600 kg/m3 for density of Hg, 9.8m/s2 as g, and the height given but I keep getting 1.02 x 10^5 Pa which is wrong. Can someone help me out?
