A bag contains 8 cinnamon candies, 16 peppermint candies, and 7 licorice candies. You are going to reach into the bag and pull out some candies without looking. What is the least number of candies that you must pull out, to be sure that you have removed at least three licorice candies? (Show your work)

The first 24 might all be cinnamon or peppermint.

After that, the next three must be licorice, so 27 is the minimum to guarantee at least 3 licorice.
