Six of the 13 balls have an even number (2,4,6,8,10 and 12). That should tell you the answer, and the reason.
The probablility of getting an even numbered one is 6/13. When stated as "odds", as at a horse racing track, it would be 6:7. I suspect they want you to answer with the probability.
A bag contains 13 balls numbered 1 through 13. What are the odds in favor of selecting a ball that has an even number? Explain why?
