Objective: Research the journey of a hero and connect it to the stages of the Hero’s Journey.
Instructions:
Make a copy of this Google Slides template and save it to your Google drive. You will work on this presentation throughout the lessons in Unit 6.
Choose ONE hero from the following list:
Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit
Mulan from Disney’s Mulan
Spiderman from Spiderman: Homecoming
(You may use a different Spiderman movie or comic if you wish. You may NOT use Venom as he is a anti hero)
If you would like to use a different hero, webmail your teacher for permission. You may NOT choose Moana since she is used in the example.

Presentation:
Complete the slides in the Research Presentation Template. Answer the prompts on each slide. Use examples from your hero’s journey AND the required sources as support. You MUST include source information on Slides 2-13 and all required sources should be used at least once.
All source information must be followed by an in-text citation, even if you are paraphrasing. Use this video to help with in-text citations,
Each slide should include a picture that represents the step in your hero’s journey. (Google Images is a great place to find pictures.)
Remember to use complete sentences, proper grammar and mechanics, and MLA format for your citations and Works Cited.
Use the following schedule to stay on track as you work through Unit 6:

Revise, Edit & Submit:
In Unit 6 Lesson 9, you will revise & edit your presentation.
Use this checklist to review your presentation BEFORE you submit it. You may also review the grading rubric to make sure you have met the assignment requirements.
In Unit 6 Lesson 10, you will submit the link to your presentation. The share settings in your link must be set to “Anyone with the link can EDIT” or “Anyone at Georgia Connections Academy can EDIT.”

Extra Credit:
Create a visual timeline or chart showing the stages of the hero’s journey as they apply to your chosen hero. Canva has free templates to create timelines or you may create your own. (If you use Canva, make sure you submit the public view link so your teacher can see your project.)
Add visual elements to enhance your slide deck (color and/or theme changes, etc.) If you choose to use a different Google Slides theme or template for your presentation, you must include ALL of the information from the original template.

Note: Your presentation MUST be in Google Slides format. Only the timeline may be submitted in a different format.
