I suspect you may mean

(-5 +i)/(2i)

be careful about what is numerator and what is denominator when typing.

If my guess is correct then multiply top and bottom by i

(-5 i + i*i) / (2i*i)
But
i * i = i^2 = -1
so
(-5 i - 1) /-2
which is
1/2 + (5/2)i
