How am I supposed to plot (1/2,-2 1/2) on a coordinate grid ?
I changed them both to decimals so it can be easier to plot because only the numbers 1,2 are on the y and x axis . How am I supposed to plot it when it's two numbers ?

Find the origin (0,0).
move right 1/2 on the x-axis. Then move down vertically 2.5 from there.

Now that you have two variables, you have two number lines. Surely your text has examples of plotting in the x-y plane.
