Europeans were drawn in to sub-Saharan Africa in their quest for?

I can't find the correct answer. Please help! I believed it was gold and slave but it is not an option.... or is it c?? what is the right answer??

I don't know, but I believe slaves were a big draw.

I'd say C. Many slaves were from West Africa, where gold is an important resource.
