ASA has an acid group. Benzophenone does not. Treat mixture with NaHCO3 which makes ASA soluble in water, extract with organic solvent (ASA stays in H2O). Evaporate organic solvent to recover benzophenone. Treat ASA-Na with acid to recover ASA.
