Y is divided by 6, the remainder is 4, so I think 6x6+4=40 , so y=40
40-6/3
=34/3
remainder=1
40-6/3
=34/3
remainder=1

y can be any number 6x+4
so, y = 3(2x)+3+1
= 3(2x+1) + 1
so, when divided by 3 it leaves a remainder of 1.
