How can weathering cause sedimentary rocks to form ?

because as weathering occurs the rock and stones from volcanoes tumble down the volcano and land on the ground or sea. after years and years the same process keeps repeating itself. overtime, the rocks compress with the sediments and when the people dig them up they find rocks of sediments. known as sedimentary rocks
