    f(g) = 3g = 3(1/x) = 3/x
g(f) = 1/f = 1/(3x)
f(g) does not mean f*g, it means "f of g".
Since "f of x" is 3x, "f of g" is 3g.
    
g(f) = 1/f = 1/(3x)
