yes, I would multiply by 100 to get rid of my decimals
(you don't HAVE to)
5x + 12(x+5000) = 94000
5x + 15x + 60000=94000
17x = 34000
x = 2000
or
.05x + .12x + 600 = 940
.17x = 340
x = 340/.17 = 2000
0.05x+0.12(x+5000)=940 the answer is 2000 but how do you get it? don't you have to multiply by 100?
