Anyway, both sides of equation must be equal. I'll just show the step by step.
Note that you should always follow the order of which operation comes first: PEMDAS or Parenthesis - Exponents - Multiplication - Division - Addition - Subtraction
But there are also other additional rules regarding this (you may just want to read or check them out).
Prove that left side = right side:
14 = 50 - 42/(3+4) * 6
14 = 50 - 42/7 * 6
14 = 50 - 6 * 6
14 = 50 - 36
14 = 14

Yes it did....I kept multiplying 7*6 before I would divide....thanks! Where can I find those additional rules?
