During a week-long dry spell, the water level in a pond decreased by 4 inches per day except for two days when it decreased by half of that amount. How much did the water level decrease in the pond in one week?

There are 7 days of the week and 2 of those days are gone (hypothetically) which leaves us with 5 days to multiply by the 4 in. which is 20 in. then you have the 2 left over days to multiply by half of 4 (which is also 2) and you get 4 now add together and you have 24 in.
