if vectors a, b, and c define a parallelepiped , then its volume is given by
| a dot (b x c) |
= | (-2,0,4) dot (5,9,0) x (0,3,-7) |
= | (-2,0,4) dot (-63, 35 , 15) |
= | 126 + 0 + 60 |
= 186
