what happened to the -9 in the 2nd line
ahhh, it came back in the third
You can't do that, that is considered "bad form"
Proper way:
(3×8+4^2)-9
= 24 + 16 - 9
= 40-9
= 31
do the second one in the same way, you again have disappearing and reappearing numbers
Secondly, don't forget to place an = sign in front of each new line
