A car comes to rest uniform deceleration at the rate of 5.8 m/s2 for 14.3 seconds. What is distance did it travel during this time??

v = v0 - at
0 = v0 - 5.8*14.3
v0 = 82.94

s = v0*t - 1/2 at^2
= 82.94*14.3 - 2.9*14.3^2
= 593.02
