how do i go about making a shoebox sized model of a desert?

Take the shoebox and flip it on its long side.Put glue on the bottom of the long side and sprinkle sand on the glue,so it won't fall off.Then in the background draw sand dunes(sand hills) and pyramids in the background.And find little toy camels so it'll look more realistic.I hope I helped.
