Can anyone suggest two films that I could use to compare and contrast?

Because I have to choose two for my English task, and the films have to a decent amount of smiliarites. My problem is that there are too many movies out there to choose from and I'm not good at making choices. So if anyone could suggest a few films, it would really help.

Well actually, I could do a book and film. Its better if I do a novel and film because it will prepare me better for the following year, so if you have a book & film or film & film that you can suggest, it would be very helpful.

The classic contrast -- in either book or movie form -- would be Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story.

You could also contrast the book and film versions of such works as Elmer Gantry or The Kite Runner, although I'm not sure the film version is out yet.

Another thought -- choose any film that you enjoy and then find another film with which you can compare it.

You could also compare and contrast two similar books by the same author -- such as A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner.

Is Romeo and Juliet a book that has a lot of complex themes or messages? I haven't read it personally, but I just want to make sure I'm not in-over-my-head because I have two weeks of holidays to read the book, and watch a film and write a 5 page journal for each text, plus I have many other holiday assignments as well.

Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare can be read at many levels. Many U.S. students read it in English class when they're 13 to 15 years old. The basic theme is easy for young teens to understand. Since there are many film versions of this play, you can probably do your assignment by watching one of the films. I believe the most recent popular film came out about 10 years ago.
