how is it 200, 300 when it says it is 100 less than twice the preceding number... isnt it 200-100=100x2==200 again? im confused

100 less than _twice_ the preceeding number.
(200)*2 -100 = 300
(300)*2 -100 = 500
(500)*2 -100 = ... et cetera
(200)*2 -100 = 300
(300)*2 -100 = 500
