b+g = 40 ----> g = 40-b
books of boys = 4b
books of girls = 5g
5g - 4b = 65
5(40-b) - 4b = 65
200 - 5b - 4b = 65
-9b = -135
b = 15
there are 15 boys and 25 girls
you finish the question.
