How many square inches of wrapping paper are needed to entirely cover a box that is 2 inches by 3 inches by 4 inches?

total surface area
= 2 ends + (front and back) + (top and bottom)
= 2(2x3) + 2(2x4) + 2(3x4)
= 12 + 16 + 24
= 52
