you know that there are 2π radians in one orbit. So, what you have to do is figure out how long it takes to make one orbit. The speed is then 2π/period
period is distance/speed = 2π*1.496*10^8 / 29.79 = 3.155 * 10^7 seconds
angular velocity is then 2π rad / 3.155*10^7 sec = 1.99*10^-7 rad/sec
check: 365.25days * 86400sec/day = 3.155*10^7 sec in a year
---------------------------
cotθ = 1/tanθ
so, if tanθ = -√3, cotθ = -1/√3
and, as you recall, tan π/3 = √3 = cot π/6

you want 3sec 2.4?
got a calculator?
That's just 3/cos 2.4
Could someone please help me out with this? I've read my text book, but can't seem to figure it out. And could you please show me how to do them?
The Earth travels in a circular orbit around the Sun at 29.79 km/sec. If the radius of
the orbit is 1.496 x 10^8 km, what is the angular velocity in radians/sec? (Round to
three significant digits.)
If tan theta= negative square root of three , what is the value of cot theta?
Find the value of 3sec2.4. (Round to the nearest tenth.)
