surely you know that the circle contains 360°. So,

(8x-10) + (6x) + (10x+10) = 360
x = 15

what about the triangle thing ????????
Answered by _-_
a. Since the measure of all of the arcs in a circle equal 360°, so we can use the equation (8x-10) + (6x) + (10x+10) = 360 to solve.
(8x-10) + (6x) + (10x+10) = 360
we combine like terms, and since the tens cancel out,
24x=360
/24 /24
x=15
b. Since we know x, we can see what triangle this is because Theorem 12-6 states congruent chords have congruent arcs. With this in mind, we can see if
any sides are congruent by solving their corresponding arcs.
8(15)-10= 110
6(15)= 90
10(15)+10= 160
Since none of the arcs are congruent, none of the cords are congruent. Therefore, the triangle is scalene.

im confused on how you guys solved for x
Answered by qqq
are the above correct?
Answered by to anony
How they found the answer is first they solved (8x-10) + (6x) + (10x+10) which equals 24x = 360, divide 360/24, then you have x=15

Yes, that is correct. They combined the arc measures of the three arcs, set it equal to the measure of the entire circle (which is 360 degrees), and solved for x.
