You want to tile your kitchen floor. The floor measures 12ft by 9ft. How many tiles each a square with side 1 1/2 ft should you purchase for the job?

12 = 8 * 1 1/2
9 = 6 * 1 1/2

so, the floor is 8 tiles by 6 tiles = 48 tiles
