Maria is packaging boxes into a carton that is 4 in. x 6 in. x 3 in. THe boxes are 2 in. x 1 in. x 1 in. How many boxes will fit in the carton?
I'm not sure how to solve. I know volume = l x w x h. The carton has volume of 72 cubic inches (4 x 6 x 3). THe boxes are 2 cubic inches (2 x1). Do I need to divide the carton's volume (72) by the box's volume (2)? 72/2 = 36 boxes will fit in the carton?

Online, “*” is used to indicate multiplication to avoid confusion with “x” as an unknown.
