- 3 x > 21
-x > 7
x < -7 (when you multiply by -1, change direction of arrow)
check
try x = -8
-3 (-8) - 8
24 -8
= 16, sure enough greater than 13
-x > 7

check
try x = -8
-3 (-8) - 8
24 -8

x < -7
You have to change the direction of the arrow when you multiply or divide both sides by a negative number. Note my check
-8 < -7 and it works
