24x-55<24/x

I don't understand this at all!!! please help

An inequality is treated just like an equation, except that multiplying/dividing by a negative value reverses the carat (< to >).

Multiply both sides by x.

24x^2 - 55x < 24

Subtract 24 from both sides.

24x^2 - 55 - 24 < 0

Factor. Each end term can be factored into 2*2*2*3. Explore combinations of two factors (4*6, 8*3, 12*2, 24*1) that can lead to -55 when combined. Remember that one factor must be negative to lead to -24.

I hope this helps.
