Tom is three times as old as Sam. So when Sam is 20, Tom will be three times as old as that. Multiply 20 by 3 and you will get 60. So when Sam is 20, Tom will be 60.

Constantine's logic is flawed.
The difference in ages between the two siblings stays the same, but the ratio of their ages changes
Just because at some point you are 3 times as old as your brother,
e.g. 15 vs 5
in five years that ratio is no longer 3:1 but rather 2:1
15 + 5 = 20
5 + 5 = 10
ratio = 20/20 = 2 and not 3
