Following the order of operations PEMDAS, we multiply first.

-5 * 7 = -35

But I keep on coming up with -21 every time I work it out.

@Ms. Sue, For (-35)-6 I have -29 and then I got -21 because I added -29 with 8

Much Ado -- I was a middle school teacher for years -- and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, when I get frustrated, I just go in the other room and work on my needlepoint. :-)
