(7/3) / 5 = (7/3) * 1/5 = 7/15 for one pillow.

20 * 7/15 = ?

I'm sorry but that just looks like gibberish to me (she said sheepishly). Can you explain it to me?
Answered by Ms. Sue
2 1/3 = 7/3

Divide 7/3 by 5 to find the amount of material needed for one pillow.

Multiply the amount for one pillow by 20 to find the amount for 20 pillows.

Wait... How do you divide 7/3 by 5? I'm so sorry this is all so confusing to me.

7/3 divided by 5/1 = 7/3 x 1/5

Here's one of my little secrets.

I often double check my work with fractions by converting to decimals and using my simple calculator.

2 1/3 = 2.33

2.33 / 5 = 0.466

0.466 * 20 = 9.32 = 9 1/3
