simplify 2xcubed+3x+5 divided by x+1. i am finding 2x squared-3x-5 and the book says 2xsquared-2x+5.please help am stuck

2x^3+3x+5 = (x+1)(2x^2-2x+5)
The book is correct.
You could easily have verified this by multiplying the alleged factors, and then checking to see where you went wrong.
Since you did not post your work, it's hard to say why you ended up where you did. Most probably a +/- sign mistake.
