multiply each term by x(x+1)(x-1) , the LCD

x(x-1)(2x-1) = x(x+1)(2x) - 5(x+1)(x-1)
x(2x^2 -3x + 1) = x(2x^2 + 2x) - 5(x^2 - 1)
2x^3 - 3x^2 + x = 2x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x^2 + 5
x = 5
