I am trying to find a good topic question and hypothesis for addiction. In my class we were asked to pick any topic related to psychology and find research to back it up. Addiction is a wide range of different behaviors and I can't seem to find a concrete answer. My first thought was How do you break the chain of addiction because it runs in my family. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you limit it to one kind of addiction -- alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs. If you choose illegal drugs, again narrow it down to no more than three different kinds of substances.

Then research three different treatments. Evaluate which is most effective and why.
