No that isn't an answe,Jr. It often takes longer to get answers to a series of questions, if you have posted under different screen names. Students often think we won't answer questions if one person posts too many but that usually isn't the case as long as the poster shows some effort.

If you will make a new post I'll try to take care of it before heading for bed. I can't find a question you posted.

I don't understand how to do this problem because i don't see a precipitate. If you could show your work on the problem that would be great so i can follow along!
Identify the spectator ion(s) in the reaction
Zn(OH)2+ H2SO4→ZnSO4+ 2H2O
in aqueous solution.
1.There are no spectator ions.
2.Zn2+, (SO4)−2
3.Zn2+, OH−, H+, SO2−4
4.SO2−4
5.Zn2+

The molecular equation is
Zn(OH)2(s) + H2SO4(aq) ==> ZnSO4(aq) + 2H2O(l)
Zn(OH)2 is a ppt. What is happening here is that the ppt is being dissolved by the acid, H2SO4.
The ionic equation is
Zn(OH)2 + 2H^+ + SO4^2- ==> Zn^2+ + SO4^2- + 2H2O
The only common ion to both sides, which can be canceled (and those are spectator ions) is SO4^2- and the net ionic equation is
Zn(OH)2(s) + 2H^+(aq) ==> Zn^2+(aq) + 2H2O(l)
The simple answer is that sulfate is the spectator ion.
Hope that helps.

And yes -- Amy, Missy, Jr -- there's no need to keep switching screen names. Pick one and stay with it.
