Either use metres or centimetres
Since this is in the metric system, one is as easy as the other, only differs by the placement of the decimal place.
e.g. in cm:
L = 100 cm W = 34 cm
area = 3400 cm^2
in m
L = 1m , W = ,34 m
area = .34 m^2
