how would you work out tan 50=27/x

please help

1 answer

tangent of theta is opposite / adjacent. So your theta (angle) here is 50, your opposite is 27, and we don't know the adjacent. So do simple algebra & bring x to the other side by multiplying so you have tan50 * x = 27, now divide tan50 * x by tan50 to get x by itself.
Now x = 27/tan50
