Describe a process for determining the volume of a small, irregularly shaped object.

put it just underwater (push if buoyant) in a cup full to the brim with water so that water of the volume of the object overflows on to the ground.
Then refill the cup from a measuring cup, writing down how many cubic centimeters or yards or whatever it takes to fill the cup up to the brim again.
