Could someone check my work;
1. Generate the first five terms in the sequence using the explicit formula.

yn = –5n – 5

–30, –25, –20, –15, –10
30, 25, 20, 15, 10
–10, –15, –20, –25, –30(my answer)
10, 15, 20, 25, 30

2. What is the 15th term in the sequence using the given formula?

cn = 3n – 1

14
57
44
–44(my choice)

3. Write a recursive formula for the sequence 7, 13, 19, 25, 31, ... Then find the next term.

an = an– 1 + 6, where a1 = 7; 37(my choice)
an = an– 1 + 6, where a1 = 37; 7
an = an– 1 – 6, where a1 = 6; –23
an = an– 1 – 6, where a1 = 7; –8

4. Write a recursive formula for the sequence 7, 4, 1, –2, –5, .... Then find the next term.

an = an–1 – 3, where a1 = –8; 7
an = an–1 – 3, where a1 = 7; –8(my answer)
an = an–1 + 3, where a1 = –3; 22
an = an–1 + 3, where a1 = 7; –8

5. Write an explicit formula for the sequence 8, 6, 4, 2, 0, ... Then find a14.

an = –2n + 10; –16
an = –2n + 8; –18
an = –2n + 8; –20
an = –2n + 10; –18
Dont understand this problem.

your first four are correct

#5.
In the explicit formula, you can find any term directly , unlike a recursive, where you have to know the previous term

so if n = 1, we should get 8 from the formula
look at the first and last
the both give you
a(1) = -2(1) = 10 = 8
a(14) = -2(14) + 10 = -28+10= -18
so it has to be the last one.
