in effect you are finding 10^9.485
so you could use the y^x key,
enter:
10
y^x
9.485
=
how about that, the same answer.
(Calculators would function quite well without the y^x key, as a matter of fact internally the calculator actually works in logs . "They" gave us that key only as a convenience)
