Simplify the rational expression state any restrictions on the variable

t^2+2t-24 / t^2-36

I got t-4 / t-6, but Im not sure of the restrictions whether its 6 or -6,6

4 answers

t can not equal positive 6.
So the answer is t-4/t-6,t=/6
t also cannot be +6, since then t^2-36 = 0 ad the original fraction is not defined.
the answer choices only give =/6 or =/-6,6 so now confused
