One type of lightning bug glows every 1 1/2 seconds. How many times can it glow in 1 minute?

I answered this last night -- and I still think we're right. The lightning bug glows 40 times.

Another way to look at this problem is that this lightning bug glows 2 times in every 3 minutes.

(60/3) * 2 = 20 * 2 = 40

If your teacher still says this is wrong, please ask him/her to explain it to you.

I was basically an English and social studies teacher in 7th and 8th grade. Occasionally, I also taught classes in 7th grade math.
