Without going into log, first remember: x^(1/2) = sqrt x. (I am assuming you are not talking about (16^1)/2 which is 8). For example, if 4^2 = 16, what is 4^(1/2)?
IT would be a number squared to be 4. So its 2. Same thing. what is sqrt x? remember a number squared = the number times itself. so what squared = 16?
it is 4
