velocity is a directed value. On its way down, the ball had momentum -24kg-m/s. On its way back up it had momentum +24kg-m/s.
The change is +48kg-m/s
The change is +48kg-m/s

The ball lands to the ground with 6 m/s so, 6 m/s × 4kg = 24kg m/s
It bounce off and goes up so the same 24 change in momentum so 24+24 =48
It bounce off and goes up so the same 24 change in momentum so 24+24 =48
