you know, you can easily substitute 11 in for x and see whether it's correct!

3(11-4) = 5(11+2)
3*7 = 5*13
Bzzzzt!

3(x-4) = 5(x+2)
3x-12 = 5x+10
2x = -22
x = -11

check:
3(-11-4) = 5(-11+2)
3(-15) = 5(9)
45 = 45
OK!

Gabby needs to learn to watch the time. Look at when you are posting these URGENT and demanding posts. Most of Jiskha's tutors have retired for the night.

In addition, posting things that HAVE TO BE TURNED IN IN 10 MINUTES and other similar things have no bearing on how fast a post will be responded to.

Gabby -- you remind me of the story of the boy who cried wolf.
