I have two questions, please help.

1. Determine the quadratic function f whose vertex is (2,-1) and passes through (1,1).
f(x)=?
type in form f(x)=ax^2+bx+c
**pleasae show work**

2. Describe for the graph of g(x)=3square root x+2 can be obtained from the graph of f(x)=3square root x
a. shift graph 2 units right
b. shift graph 2 units down
c. shift graph 2 units up
d. shift graph 2 units left

1 answer

given the vertex,
y = a(x-2)^2 - 1
given the point,
1 = a(1-2)^2 - 1
1 = a - 1
a = 2
so,
y = 2(x-2)^2 - 1
y = 2x^2 - 8x + 7

g(x) = f(x+2), so
(D)
