Imagine that you are hosting a group of exchange students next term. You are responsible for welcoming the students to campus and acquainting the students with life on campus socially as well as academically.
Develop a “Welcome Letter” for the visiting students. Keep in mind that the students have not lived in the United States nor attended a U.S. college before. What do they need to know about making and keeping friends here in the U.S.? How would I start this letter? Also, I have never been to a college campus before thus I have no clue as to what social events if any are offered. Any suggestions will be a great help. Thank you

Definitely indicate how glad you are to have them on your campus.
However, before you write this letter, contact someone in the counseling center of a local institution to find what services are available for foreign students. List these services and/or procedures and how to take advantage of them.
Lastly, let them know you will be available if they have any questions or problems, giving them specific ways to contact you.
I hope this give you a start.
