how do i simplify this expression?
9x^2 16x^4y^2
-------- x --------
-4x^3y^4 25xy

It looks like division, but you say "x" so I will assume multiplication. In that case, multiply the numbers and add exponents of like factors:

9(-4)(16)25) (x^4)(x^3)(x^1) (y^2)(y^4)(y)
14400 x^8 y^7

if you do want to divide, subtract exponents and divide coefficients.
